Personal Style Influences:
My Lord! So many to choose from...fabrics, photos, films, magazines, moods, friends. I look anywhere and everywhere for inspiration. Lately it's been viewing photos of museum piece vintage gowns from the mid-late Victorian Era. Mostly anything Steven Meisel photographs is inspiring.
Favorite Personal Feature & Why?
My lips, because I can draw them into a tiny pout.
Least Favorite Personal Feature & Why?
My colouring. I've always been drawn to that perfect pale creamy skin. Mine is too red, though I can tone it down with makeup. I can never acquire that perfect pale complexion I dream of.
Tim Burton Flicks, Period films (Elizabeth, An Ideal Husband, The Age of Innocence, etc), Xman, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Matrix (just the 1st one), Legend, The Women and so many other wonderful films from the 30's and 40's, John Huges films from the 80's
Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, Love and Rockets, Tones On Tail, Sisters of Mercy, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Dead Can Dance, Joy Division, TKK, The Cure, The Smiths, Velvet Acid Christ, KMFDM, Nitzer Ebb, Covenant, Various Industrial and EBM, New Wave 80's, Big Band
Things you are absolutely passionate about:
my husband, vintage clothing (corsets, gowns, hats, etc) & lifestyle, make up, club outfitting - everything from the shopping for various vinyl and lace to the arranging of fab new outfits at home, Shoes/Boots (capitalized because I feel they are a proper noun..giggle), sewing, books
Favorite gothic style? This can be any gothic style, not only one you are currently representing in your photos. It's whatever you are interested in.
"Vintage goth"...be it Victorian - classic and futuristic, Roaring 20's, 30's silent film star, 40's socialite, geisha-goth. I'm mostly drawn to Victorian Goth.
I was in this past fall's Gothic Beauty, and have modeled in several shows to help out local designers
Why would you like to be a Gothicdoll? (Be honest! ;o)
First of all, I never stopped loving dolls. When I was a little girl, I wanted to turn into the dolls my Great Aunt would send me. So perfect and pretty with the frilliest (is that a word?) clothes! I love to create a face that is like a doll - it's my beautiful mask -hence the tiny lips and giant eyes I'm so famous for doing. Clara Bow has always been an inspiration to me. Queen Elizabeth with her white face and blood red lips was a walking doll.
Nadya Lev took this photo this past summer, and it was published in Gothic Beauty:
